Connecting OKX

How to connect your OKX account to Delta, including important information for OKX EU users about current connection limitations.

Written by James Evans

Delta connects to exchanges using API keys to automatically import your transaction history and balances. For most OKX users, this works using the standard API Trading key flow. However, OKX EU users are affected by a platform change that currently prevents Delta from connecting.

OKX EU — Connection Not Currently Available

OKX has migrated EU users to a separate European platform. On this platform, API keys are created through a "Linking/Connecting to a Third-Party App" option rather than the standard API Trading route.

Unfortunately, Delta is not currently listed as an approved third-party app in OKX EU's system. This means OKX EU accounts cannot be connected to Delta at this time. Using the standard API Trading key as a workaround will not resolve this — OKX EU's platform requires the third-party app route for connections of this type.

We've been in contact with OKX to have Delta added to their approved third-party app list and will update this article as soon as the connection becomes available.

OKX (Non-EU) — How to Connect

If you're on the standard OKX platform (outside the EU), you can connect to Delta using an API Trading key. When creating your API key on OKX:

  • Choose the API Trading option.

  • Enable Read permission only.

  • Disable Trade and Withdraw permissions completely. Delta's security protocols will reject any key that includes these permissions.

Once your key is created, enter the API Key, Secret, and Passphrase in Delta when adding the exchange connection.

Troubleshooting

  • "Exchange did not respond" error: Try syncing again from Settings → Connections and keep the app open while the sync runs.

  • "Invalid API credentials" error: Your key may have expired or been entered incorrectly. Go to the connection and tap Update connection to enter new keys. Do not delete the connection, as this can remove your imported transaction history.

  • "Insufficient access" error: Check that your API key has Read-Only permissions and that Trade and Withdraw are disabled.
