How to Connect a Wallet Address to Delta

Learn how to easily link your cryptocurrency wallets, including MetaMask and eToro Money, to Delta for automatic portfolio tracking.

Written by Advait

Delta makes it incredibly easy to track your on-chain assets by supporting wallet connections for BTC, ETH, LTC, NEO, DOGE, XRP, EOS, and many more. We also support seamless web3 connections using MetaMask, the eToro Money wallet, and WalletConnect.

Just like exchange and broker connections, free users can connect up to two wallets (or a combination of connections), while our Delta PRO subscribers unlock the ability to connect an unlimited number of wallets.

Here is exactly how to link your wallet to Delta.

Setting up a Standard Wallet Connection

If you want to paste in a public wallet address to track its history, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the specific portfolio where you want to add the wallet connection. (Keep in mind that wallet connections are tied to individual portfolios).

  2. Tap the circle with the '+' (plus) sign and select Connect Wallet.

  3. Choose the specific coin or blockchain of the wallet you would like to connect.

  4. Enter your public wallet address. (Tracker Tip: If you are connecting a hardware wallet like a Ledger or Trezor, be sure to enter your xpub address!).

  5. Configure your import settings and add the connection.

Connecting MetaMask, eToro Money, or WalletConnect

If you prefer to authorize a direct connection via a web3 wallet app, the steps are slightly different:

  1. Follow the steps above to tap Connect Wallet, but choose MetaMask, eToro Money, or WalletConnect from the list.

  2. You will be automatically redirected to the respective app.

    • For MetaMask: Read the pop-up prompt in your MetaMask app and press Connect.

    • For eToro Money: Follow the on-screen steps to copy your address, then tap "Track crypto on Delta" within the eToro Money app to be taken back to Delta.

    • For WalletConnect: Follow the standard on-screen prompts relevant to your specific wallet to approve the connection.

  3. Select the portfolio you want to import the transactions into, configure your import settings, and you are all set!.

Understanding Your Import Settings

When adding your connection, you must select exactly how Delta should import your data. Please choose carefully, as these import settings cannot be edited once the connection is added.

  • Import Timeframe (Required): You must select how far back Delta should look:

    • Import all transactions: Pulls your entire transaction history as far back as the blockchain API allows us.

    • Import all transactions since date: Skips any transactions made before a specific date you choose.

    • Import new transactions only: Ignores your past history entirely and only imports new trades moving forward. This is the perfect option if you have already manually logged your past trades!.

  • Import NFTs: Toggling this ON will automatically import all the NFTs held in that wallet into your portfolio.

  • Notify me of future transactions (PRO): Delta will send you a push notification whenever a new transaction is successfully imported from this connection.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

  • Transaction Limits: For performance reasons, wallets that contain more than 10,000 past transactions will be rejected due to the massive volume of trades that would need to be imported.

  • eToro Money Troubleshooting: When adding the eToro Money connection, if your address is not automatically pasted into Delta, please close both the Delta and eToro Money apps, ensure your device's clipboard (copy and paste history) is completely clear, and try the process again.

  • Balance Changes: Please be aware that choosing to import your past transactions might heavily influence your current portfolio balances, so always double-check your history after the first sync completes!
