When adding a Wallet Account Connection address to Delta, it's important to add your xPub (Extended Public Key) rather than your 'receiving' address, unless you are only wanting to track one specific address.

It's important to add the xPub instead of just a single address. If you only add one address, Delta can only track that one specific address. Some Wallets create a new address for each and every transactions, meaning any new addresses created for future transactions will not be tracked, meaning an inaccurate portfolio! By using the xPub, Delta can monitor all addresses associated with your wallet, ensuring accurate and complete tracking of your holdings.

What is xPub?

An xPub, or Extended Public Key, is a master key that can generate all the public keys in a wallet. Unlike a regular address, which is a single public key, an xPub can derive multiple public keys, enabling you to track all addresses created within your wallet. Importantly, an xPub is a public key and does not expose private keys.

Why Use xPub?

Using an xPub allows Delta Portfolio Tracker to:

  • Track all addresses: Keep track of all addresses generated with new transactions.

  • Maintain security: xPubs do not expose private keys, ensuring your funds remain secure.

  • Simplify management: Easily manage and monitor multiple addresses under a single xPub.

Steps to Add xPub

  1. Access your wallet: Navigate to your wallet settings.

  2. Locate xPub: Find the Extended Public Key (xPub) in your wallet. It is crucial to use the public key (xPub), not the private key.

  3. Add to Delta: Copy and paste the xPub into the Wallet Address field.

By adding the xPub, you ensure that Delta can accurately track all transactions and addresses associated with your wallet, while keeping your private keys and funds secure.

Other Supported Key Types

We don't just support xPub for Bitcoin, we also support Ypub, Zpub, Ltub and Mtub which all work in a similar manner.
