How to Matching Tricky Assets in Delta

Sometimes, assets with longer or uncommon names can be a bit tricky to find. If you're faced with assets we couldn't quite automatically match, or we wanted to make sure we've got the right asset, you cap tap the 'Assets Unable to be matched' section to manually tie up the asset to it's Delta counterpart.

Search for the Full Name or Ticker

Start by typing in the full name of the fund or asset. Being specific really helps—some assets have similar names, so include all the details. If you’re not sure about the name, check with your broker or investment platform.

If this doesn't yield results it may help to start by just searching the provider (e.g BlackRock) and then slowly narrowing it down by adding other fragments of the fund name until you find what we have the asset under in Delta.

Use the ISIN for a More Accurate Search

If the name search doesn’t work, try using the asset’s ISIN.

An ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) is a unique code used worldwide to identify specific securities like stocks, funds, and bonds. It’s often the most reliable way to find exactly what you’re looking for, bypassing any confusion from name variations.

You can find the ISIN in a few places:

Your Broker’s Platform: Most brokers list the ISIN along with the asset details.

Investment Documents: The ISIN is usually included in documents like the fund’s prospectus or fact sheet.

Online Searches: A quick search on Google or financial sites like Bloomberg can also help you find it.

Searching with the ISIN is often the quickest way to get the exact match in Delta.

Check if the Asset Is Traded on a Supported Exchange

Sometimes, the issue might be that the asset is traded on an exchange that Delta doesn’t fully support. For example, many funds aren’t traded directly on exchanges like stocks, which can make them harder to find. You can check which exchanges are supported in Delta by visiting our Supported Exchanges.

Double-Check with Your Broker

Before adding the asset, it’s a good idea to confirm with your broker that the ISIN is correct for what you’re tracking.

Add the Asset to Your Portfolio

Once you’ve found the right match, go ahead and add it to your portfolio in Delta and enjoy all the tracking features Delta has to offer!
