Whether you want to keep a backup of your investment data or seamlessly migrate your transaction history to or from another platform, Delta’s CSV features have you covered.
How to Export Your Data to a CSV
Delta allows you to easily export your portfolio data into a CSV file, providing a downloadable backup that you can safely store or re-import whenever you need.
Open the sidebar by tapping the hamburger icon in the top left corner.
Navigate to Settings, then tap on Devices & Data.
Tap on Export Data.
Select the specific portfolio you want to export and press Download.
Choose the program you want to open the file with or save it directly to your device. (Note: standard CSV exports will only include your active transactions, meaning any manually deleted transactions will not appear in the file).
How to Import Data from a CSV
Navigate to the Portfolio you want to import your transactions into.
Choose to add a transaction and select the CSV import option. Select the formatting that matches your file (our Delta format or one of the supported external sources).
Tap the upload button and locate the CSV file on your device.
Delta will process the file. Depending on the size of your history, this will take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.
A summary screen will show exactly how many transactions were successfully matched and imported. If any assets couldn't be automatically matched, they will be listed separately.
Managing Your CSV Imports
Made a mistake during an import? Do not worry, you have complete control over your imported files.
You can manage all of your imported CSV files by navigating to Settings > Devices & Data > CSV Import History. From this menu, you can easily view your past imports, upload a newer version to replace an old one, or completely revert and delete the import entirely.
Using the Custom Delta CSV Template
If your exchange or platform is not natively supported, you can manually input your history into the Delta CSV Template to mass-import your trades.
When filling out the Delta template, please be sure to follow these strict rules or the import will fail:
Delete the Instructions: You must delete the instructional text rows at the top of the template before importing (but keep the row with the actual column headers).
Dates: Your dates must be in the past, after 1970-01-01, and formatted in ISO 8601 or RFC 2822 (e.g.,
yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss TZD).Base & Quote Amounts: These must be entered purely as numbers. Do not use commas (e.g., enter ten thousand as
10000, not10,000).Way: The transaction type must be exactly one of the following:
BUY,SELL,DEPOSIT,WITHDRAW,TRANSFER, orDIVIDEND.
Troubleshooting Common CSV Errors
If you run into an error during your import, here is how to quickly fix the most common issues:
Wrong Asset Imported / Asset Not Supported: Because many crypto assets share the same shortcodes (like SOL, DOT, etc.), Delta needs to know exactly which one you mean. If your CSV only says
SOLorSOL2(common in CoinTracking exports), you must open your CSV in a text editor or Excel, use "Find and Replace", and change it to SOL (Solana) or DOT (Polkadot) exactly as it appears in Delta.Invalid combination "Sent/Received from", "Sent to" or "Type": Your transaction path must make logical sense. For example, moving an asset from
OTHERtoBinancemust be marked as aDEPOSIT, not aTRANSFER. Transfers are strictly between two known exchanges or wallets.Failed to parse: This usually means there is text or a comma in your Base/Quote amount or Fee columns. Ensure these are numbers only.
Invalid combination (not supported on exchange): The trading pair or fee currency you entered isn't natively supported on that specific exchange in Delta. Ensure the pair exists on Delta first, or leave the "Exchange" column completely blank to let it default to the Delta Global Average.
