Limitations to exchange account connections

There are some things exchange account connections do not import

Exchange Account Connections can generally import normal buy and sell trades, deposit and withdrawal information from the exchange. Deposits and withdrawals are only imported if the "Import withdrawals/deposits"  toggle is turned ON while adding the connection.

However, exchange account connections have many limitations and are not a one-stop solution. Due to the following limits, your imported balances in Delta may not match what is reported on the exchange. Here is a list of known limitations as well as what types of transactions we do support:

Delta does not support margin transactions

Margin trades done on an exchange may not be imported correctly or imported at all. Supporting margin trades is on our roadmap but there is no ETA at this time.

General Limitations

Almost all exchange connections do not expose the following in their API:

  • Delisted Coins

  • Forked Coins

  • Air Drops

  • Staking

  • Distributions (GAS, VTHO, etc.)

  • Farming

  • Referral Bonuses

  • Sub Account Trades

  • Margin Trades

  • Stop-Limit Orders

  • Rewards

  • Conversions

Binance

There are a number of transaction types we don't get any reliable data for over the API and therefore we can't import them into Delta.

Due to Binance API limitations, only the most recent 90 days of OTC trades and crypto-to-crypto conversions are retrieved.

Additionally, no API support exists for Binance Liquid Swap (swaps), Binance Savings Interest, USD-M/COIN-M Futures Income, or other advanced trading features.

Binance requires KYC (intermediate) identity verification for API access. If your API sync isn’t working, please complete Binance’s identity verification first.

Staking rewards from your Earn wallet will be imported, but balances of what is staking won’t appear until you move them back to your Spot wallet.

Binance does not provide historical data for certain coin purchases made via “Cash balance” including direct fiat purchases. These must be entered manually.

Forked coins, airdrops, commissions, and GAS distributions are not included via the Binance connection and must also be entered manually.

Transactions for coins with zero balance, deposits, and withdrawals (e.g., sold completely with no transfers) aren’t imported automatically. To import them, open the Binance connection, tap the three dots, and perform a “Full Sync” while keeping the app open.

Trades involving delisted coins, such as BCN, VEN, and BTT, cannot be synced. For these, upload your trade history via CSV or add them manually.

Stop-limit orders, margin trades, Binance Leveraged Tokens (BLVT), Cross Margin Trades, and Isolated Margin Trades are not imported.

KuCoin

  • Delta will not import transactions for coins with 0 balances and 0 withdrawals and 0 deposits. For example, if you bought a coin XYZ and sold it completely (i.e. its balance in KuCoin is zero) and never deposited or withdrew XYZ then the app will not import any XYZ trades.

Bitfinex

  • At the moment, we do not support the import of margin trades so these may be imported incorrectly.

  • Settlements are not imported.

Automatic Balance Adjustments

A deposit or withdrawal entry is automatically created to match the balance of the coin to that on the exchange when there are API limitations that prevent the import of full trade history. An Automatic Balance Adjustment is created in the following situations:

  • Automatic Balance Adjustment happens only once if the exchange connection is for Binance, Binance US, Bittrex, Huobi, or Poloniex.

  • Automatic Balance Adjustments happen on every sync if the exchange connection is CEX, KuCoin, Bitpanda, Coinspot, Okx, Crypto.com, and Swyftx.

  • You have enabled "Import all transactions"

  • You have no existing manual transactions for that exchange

This entry will have a note explaining that it is an "automatically generated transaction to adjust balance...".
