If your portfolio is showing incredibly large or clearly wrong numbers, this is almost always caused by a transaction entry error or typo — not a real balance.
Delta does not store a static portfolio balance. Instead, the app calculates your total worth by replaying your entire transaction history in chronological order. Because of this, Delta is only as accurate as the information it has. A manual entry typo — such as adding an extra zero or forgetting a decimal point — or holdings for a specific asset dipping below zero can cause the calculation engine to overflow and display these massive, glitched numbers.
How to find and fix the incorrect transaction
Reveal hidden assets: Go to Settings > View Options and make sure both "Hide 0 holdings" and "Hide small holdings" are turned OFF. This ensures the glitched asset isn't hidden from your main screen.
Spot the culprit: Look at your portfolio list for any asset showing an unusual balance, a negative balance, or calculation error warnings.
Audit the transaction history: Tap on that specific asset, go to its Transactions tab, and look for any manual typos (extra zeros or misplaced decimals), duplicate entries (added manually and imported via API), or negative balances (a sell recorded before the matching purchase).
Once you delete or edit the incorrect transaction, Delta's transaction replay engine will instantly recalculate and restore your actual portfolio value.
